Conference speaker
Invited lecture: Sustainability of Elements and Materials: Resources Management and Monitoring
Antonia Loibl studied chemistry at Freie Universität Berlin and University of Western Australia, Perth. In 2017, she obtained a PhD in chemistry from Freie Universität Berlin with research work in organophosphorus and metalorganic synthetic chemistry. Afterwards, Antonia Loibl joined the competence center “Sustainability and Infrastructure Systems“ at Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI as a senior researcher and project leader in 2018. Her research focus is on the quantification and depiction of raw material cycles and their development over time on global and regional scale through material flow analysis (MFA). This includes the analysis of recycling flows with recycling rates and identification of current barriers and further potentials but also the relationship between raw material supply and demand, especially in the context of future technologies and questions of supply security. The research work is always embedded in the discussion around sustainability and circular economy and the necessary connected system transformation.
