Tomorrow Today in Research Spain 2025

Tomorrow Today in Research is part of a global series of events designed to address issues of national interest to universities, institutes, research centres and the wider scientific community.

Tomorrow Today in Research

Welcome

This year in the Spanish edition of TTIR the central theme will be: Scopus and SciVal in the context of ANECA's Sexenios de Investigación

Take this opportunity to prepare your applications for the Sexenios de Investigación.

Selecting publications and evidencing their impact for the accreditation of six-year research fellowships can be a complex process, especially when knowledge of metrics, factors that influence their behaviour and their correct interpretation is required.

Although universities rely on CRIS systems to obtain bibliometric reports, these do not always include the most relevant metrics for publications, such as normalised impact or social, economic and media impact indicators, which are available in tools such as Scopus and SciVal.

In order to contribute to the process of preparing for the recognition and accreditation of six-year research fellowships, Elsevier has prepared a programme that will allow participants to select, analyse and present their publications accompanied by a solid impact narrative and a responsible use of research metrics.

Audience

This programme is aimed at all staff involved in research evaluation in Spain, particularly teaching and research staff (PDI), administrative and service staff (PAS) supporting research and vice-rectors of research. We will make use of Elsevier's Scopus and SciVal platforms, both supported by ANECA: https://www.boe.es/boe/dias/2023/12/16/pdfs/BOE-A-2023-25537.pdf

Sessions

The programme consists of three (3) sessions - two (2) virtual and one (1) face-to-face.

To facilitate participation in the face-to-face session, we will be in 3 cities throughout Spain: Barcelona, Madrid and Seville. The capacity for these sessions is limited, so please confirm your attendance.

During the virtual sessions, participants will be provided with the necessary context to make the most of the face-to-face practical session.
