Min Zhou 周民

Zhejiang University, China

Dr. Zhou is distinguished professor of the Zhejiang University, National High-level Talent Expert, and deputy director of key laboratory of cancer intervention and prevention (Ministry of Education, China) . His research is focused on development of biomaterials and drug delivery systems, as well as their clinical translation. He has published over 150 peer review research papers in Cell Biomaterials, Matter, Science Advances, Nature Communications etc.. Dr. Zhou's team focus on microalgae-based biomaterials, systematically exploring innovative applications of microalgae (e.g., Spirulina , Chlorella , Haematococcus pluvialis) in drug delivery for various disease treatments, including: Multifunctional delivery platforms using the innate carrier properties of microalgae to construct versatile drug delivery systems; Targeted delivery to achieve precise drug release and significantly improving the bioavailability of drugs/active ingredients through functional modifications; Theranostic integration by leveraging the inherent imaging capabilities of key microalgal components to establish "diagnosis-treatment integration" technology. Dr. Zhou has pioneered pivotal clinical translation studies, including human clinical trials investigating microalgal exosomes and bioactive microalgal compounds. Concurrently, he actively promotes the product development and clinical application of these technologies in areas such as dietary supplements and medicine and food homology products.
