British Society for Parasitology

As of 2026, Elsevier will sponsor the BSP Annual Meeting and together with the Society will co-organise a series of publishing and professional development workshops, prioritizing mentorship of early career researchers in scientific publishing and promoting inclusion and equity. As of January 1, 2026, Food and Waterborne Parasitology underwent a change in ownership, transferring from the International Association for Food and Waterborne Parasitology (IAFWP) to the European Federation of Parasitologists (EFP)—a federation with 31 Member Societies representing over 6,000 parasitologists, all over Europe, and beyond. Our full list of open Calls for Papers has numerous options for you to put forth your unique perspective in review article format, and some, even allow for novel full-length article submissions that fit the issues thematic scope.

Become a reviewer

Peer review publishing and quality manuscript evaluation relies upon support from the academic community. Our peer review guidelines require no less than two reviewers in order to assess the quality of our submissions on route to publication. We offer free training to become a certified peer reviewer through the Elsevier Researcher Academy.

Volunteering as a reviewer gives you unique insights into submissions related to your specialty focus. The process may also help to improve the quality of your own future submissions as you become more aware of the odds and ends of drafting a publication ready manuscript. It also helps to move your field forward and speed up editorial time for authors, shortening the gap from manuscript to publication in a community focused way.
