Roswitha Zeis

Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany

Roswitha Zeis is a professor in the field of electrochemical energy conversion. She specializes in developing and characterizing advanced energy systems such as vanadium redox flow batteries and high‐temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cells (HT-PEMFCs). With a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Konstanz (2005) and postdoctoral work at leading institutions such as Bell Laboratories, Johns Hopkins University, MIT, and Northeastern University, she has built a strong reputation in innovative fuel cell and battery technologies.

Currently, she holds a professorship for Electric Hydrogen Systems at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), where her research focuses on optimizing membrane-electrode assemblies, improving catalytic processes, and employing advanced imaging and impedance techniques to study electrochemical reactions. Her work not only advances the fundamental understanding of these systems but also contributes to making renewable energy technologies more efficient and reliable.
