Welcome statement from the Conference Chairs
โI attended the seventh and eighth International Symposium on Molecular Insect Science held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 2014 and Sitges, Spain in 2019 respectively. I found these meetings to be real highlights of the conference calendar โ the single session format avoided the need to move between rooms/talks and fostered networking with other entomologists. Furthermore, the topic of molecular entomology provided a clear overarching focus to the symposium while the diverse themes ensured exposure to a wide range of subjects in insect molecular sciences. I am very much looking forward to the 9th Molecular Insect Science Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and anticipate an exciting selection of talks and posters across diverse topics, catching up with colleagues and making new connections.โ - Chris Bass, University of Exeter, UK
โAs one of the Conference Chairs of MOLI 2026, I am truly excited about this upcoming meeting. MOLI has always been a place where great science meets meaningful collaboration, and I firmly believe that your participation will help shape the future of our field. I look forward to welcoming you, exchanging inspiring ideas, and building new partnerships that will make our science stronger and our impact greater.โ

โI attended the second Molecular Insect Science Conference in Flagstaff, Arizona, in 1993 when I was a postdoctoral researcher. That meeting played a pivotal role in shaping my academic career in insect molecular toxicology. The upcoming 9th Molecular Insect Science Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, will provide an outstanding international platform for scientists and researchers worldwide to share their latest discoveries in the field. As a member of the conference organizing committee and the Editor-in-Chief of Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology, I look forward to attending the conference and engaging with colleagues and participants.โ
