The Thailand Research Fund (TRF), Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC) and Scopus have jointly supported the TRF-OHEC-Scopus Researcher Awards since 2009.

These annual awards recognize outstanding and exemplary young researchers and mid-career researchers who have received grants funded by The Thailand Research Fund (TRF) Academic Research Division, and will be given out during the 18th TRF-OHEC Annual Congress in 2019. The TRF Annual Congress will be held in January 2019.

Award Categories

The awards are given at two levels in the following categories:

NEW SCHOLAR AWARDMID-CAREER SCHOLAR AWARD
  • Physical Sciences (Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry)
  • Biological & Life Sciences (Including Biological Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Health Sciences)
  • Engineering & Multidisciplinary Technology (Including Chem. Eng.)
  • Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Physical Sciences (Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry)
  • Biological & Life Sciences (Including Biological Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Health Sciences)
  • Engineering & Multidisciplinary Technology (Including Chem. Eng.)
  • Humanities and Social Sciences

Eligibility & Evaluation Criteria

Applicants for TRF-OHEC-Scopus Research Awards must be the recipients of TRF grants.

> Eligibility

  • New Scholar Award
    Recipient of TRF New Researcher Grants that are co-funded by TRF and OHEC or co-funded by TRF and university/research institute (MRG, TRG or equivalent research grants supported by Academic Research Division, TRF).
  • Mid-Career Scholar Award
    Recipient of TRF Mid-career Career Researcher Grants (RMU, RSA or the equivalent research grants supported by Academic Research Division, TRF).

> Evaluation

1. Award Criteria - The award will be judged according to Scopus indexes.

2. Research Impact will be judged on the evaluation of social, economic or scientific impact  by the committee

Please note:

  • The application must be submitted no later than 2 years after the submission of the final report
  • The selected publications will include only those generated from the research supported by TRF (under the corresponding grant level) which 4 best papers are needed to state in the publication list.
  • If the applicant has been granted by TRF more than one time in the same level, the publications can only be selected from the outputs generated from the last 2 grants.
  • For Social Sciences and Humanities, the research output could be in the form of published articles in international or national journals or books etc. Clear evidence supporting the quality of the research outputs, such as citations and/or social impact must also be submitted.
  • The social, economic or scientific impact will be judged from a brief summary of the main theme/contribution of your research (1) Science & Technology - no more than 1 A4 page based on the main contributions of your selected 4 best papers, (2) Humanities and Social Sciences - no more than 4 A4 pages based on published articles, and/or books, and/or other documents.
