New Nanomaterials for the Electrochemical Biosensing and Energy Applications; From Academic Research to Industrial Applications

本演講將以奈米材料及其複合材料的應用識別和評估,學術界研究連結工業界和醫院之的合作進行報告,以便了解當前的需求和未來的挑戰。 基於 BTMO 的生物標誌物傳感器的檢測限,二元過渡金屬氧化物(BTMO)在增強生物標誌物檢測的靈敏度方面的優勢,評估生物功能及感測的有效應用。原則保留了奈米材料和生物分子的所有特定特性。此外,過渡金屬(M = Mn,Ni,Co和Fe)摻雜的 MoSe2 及相關的二元金屬化合物,用作生物/電化學傳感器,生物燃料電池和超級電容器應用的電極材料。在實際樣品分析中,顯示了在生物流體中檢測生物標誌物的可行性。有關奈米材料的基礎研究及其在現實生活中的應用之間的現有差距等將以討論。

Nanomaterials continue to bring promising advances to science and technology. In concert have come calls for increased regulatory oversight to ensure their appropriate identification and evaluation, which has led to extensive discussions about nanomaterial discussions. The success of nanomanufacturing depends on the strong cooperation between academia, industry, and hospital in order to be informed about current needs and future challenges, to design products directly transferred into the industrial and clinical sector. In that Binary transition metal oxides (BTMOs) displayed the recognizable benefit in enhancing the sensitivity of biomarker detection, though reported BTMOs based biomarker sensor’s detection limit is sufficient. These principles preserve all specific properties of both, nanomaterial and biomolecule. Further, We reported transition metals (M = Mn, Ni, Co and Fe) doped MoSe2 and applied as the electrode materials for bio/electrochemical sensors, biofuel cells, and supercapacitors applications. In real sample analysis, the showed a feasible recovery range for biomarker detection in biological fluids. Undoubtedly, the existing gap between basic research relating nanomaterials and their application in real life will be overcome in the coming decade.  This presentation will outline the application identification and evaluation of nanomaterials and their composite materials.

Discovery of High-performance OLED materials and Experience of Publishing in CHEM Journal

有機發光二極體 (organic light-emitting diode, OLED)從基礎研究到商業應用的過程克服了許多的挑戰,特別是相關發光材料的理論演化進程扮演極為關鍵的角色。直至目前,高效率且穩定的藍色發光材料開發仍有許多基礎研究可以努力的空間。這次演講將報告本研究室隨材料放光理論的演化過去 20 年在藍色發光材料的關鍵動機和重要研究成果,同時分享在台灣從事基礎科學研究與期刊投稿的經驗。

The successful commercialization of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) from the fundamental research conquered many challenges. Particularly, the evolutions of the basic theory for light-emitting materials play the crucial roles. Until now, the blue-light emitting materials that afford device with high efficiency and promising durability are still highly desired. This seminar will share our experiences on the key issues and developments of blue emission materials achieved in my laboratory for the last two decades and some experiences on the submission to “Chem”.

本演講以編輯角度介紹 Cell Press 物理科學期刊包括 Chem, Joule,  Trends in Chemistry, Matter 的特色。 講者將分享有關同儕審查過程的資訊。 最後,她會提供一些小技巧,說明如何提高研究人員在高影響力期刊上發表論文的機會。

The presentation will start with an introduction of Cell Press, followed by a focus on physical sciences journals including Chem, Joule, Matter, Cell Reports Physical Science and Trends in Chemistry. Then, she will move to share some detailed information on the peer review process. Finally, she will finish by provide some tips on how to improve researchers’ chances of getting published in high impact journals.

陳生明(Shen-Ming Chen)於國立台灣大學獲得化學博士學位。之後他在 1997 年在德國弗里德里希-亞歷山大大學埃爾蘭根-紐倫堡無機化學研究所做訪問博士後。他於 1985 年加入國立台北科技大學工程學院化學工程系。
