About Lyon

Fly to Lyon

Primary airport: Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport (LYS), about 25 km east of central Lyon.

From the airport to the city:

RhônExpress: the fast rail link from LYS to Lyon Part-Dieu (central business district). Typical journey about 30 minutes. High frequency (every 15 minutes or so). Ticket prices roughly in the mid-€10s to mid-€20s for a one-way; return discounts available.

Travel by rail (high-speed and regional)

Key rail hubs in Lyon: Lyon Part-Dieu and Lyon Perrache.

High-speed options:

Paris to Lyon: frequent TGV services; typical journey around 2 hours from Paris Gare de Lyon to Lyon Part-Dieu.

Other major French cities with direct high-speed links to Lyon: Marseille, Montpellier, Nice, and sometimes Bordeaux and Lille.

Regional and local services:

TER (regional trains) connect Lyon with nearby towns and cities in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
