Journal of Data and Information Science (JDIS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and published by the National Science Library of CAS. It is indexed in major authoritative databases, including Web of Science (Q2) and Scopus (Q1). JDIS is led by Co-Editors-in-Chief Professor Ronald Rousseau and Professor Liying Yang. Its highly international editorial board includes members from 18 countries and regions, with more than half based outside China, and features four recipients of the Derek de Solla Price Medal, the highest honor in the field of scientometrics and informetrics.
The journal welcomes submissions from researchers, research managers, and publishing professionals across all disciplines. JDIS focuses on understanding the research ecosystem and the science system through data-driven and quantitative approaches. Topics include research funding, international collaboration, scientific careers, disciplinary evolution, scholarly communication, research evaluation, technology transfer, research integrity, and interactions between science and society.
JDIS publishes original research articles, review articles, perspectives, research notes, and data papers. The journal offers an efficient editorial process, with a first decision typically provided within three working days and single-round peer review completed in approximately four weeks.
