Elsevier marks International Nurses Day with the launch of new Nurses Resource Center to support and celebrate nurses across the globe

New York | 8 May 2023

Education, research and wellness resources available, alongside expert opinions from nurse leaders and content celebrating the essential role nurses play in delivering healthcare

Elsevier, a global leader in evidence-based clinical practice content, research publishing and information analytics, is announcing the launch of a new Nurses Resource Center featuring content to support nurses throughout their career journey. Launched to coincide with International Nurses Day (May 12), the Center will be regularly updated to include new research, education and support in four areas – self-care and wellbeing, recognition, professional development and community engagement.

As well as providing support to the nursing community, the resource hub will also recognize and celebrate the essential role nurses play in delivering healthcare.  Despite their expert knowledge of the needs of patients and their communities, too often the views of nurses are not sought or considered when designing local healthcare services.  The Nurses Resource Center will feature expert opinions and reflections from nursing leaders, to elevate the voice of nurses in the debate about the future of healthcare.

The landing page includes a range of resources to support and celebrate nurses, including:

  • Education resources for nurses and nursing students

  • Nursing focused peer-reviewed journal articles

  • Health and wellness resources – articles and videos to help nurses stay physically and mentally well

  • Insight and perspectives from nursing sector leaders on the role of the modern day nurse

  • A new supplement on the future of nursing, examining the challenges facing nurses and exploring how these can be overcome.

  • The opportunity to sign up for “The Future of Nursing” webinar in June 2023

Jan Herzhoff, President of Elsevier Health, said: “Nurses are essential to the delivery of healthcare across the world, and the creation of this resource celebrates the value they provide in the face of new challenges that arise every day.  We are committed to working with nurses throughout their journey, not just through education and career long learning but also supporting their mental health and wellbeing as they continue to operate in high pressure work environments.  As a trusted, evidence-based partner of nurses, we hope that by bringing research, education, and wellness content into one central location, we can help support nurses around the world.”
