Peter A. Bandettini, PhD is Chief of the Section on Functional Imaging Methods and Director of the Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging Core Facility at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), National Institutes of Health. He received his PhD in Biophysics from the Medical College of Wisconsin and has served as a Principal Investigator at NIMH since 1999. His research focuses on the development and application of functional MRI (fMRI) methods, including ultra-high-resolution imaging, resting-state fMRI, time-series analysis, naturalistic paradigms, and multimodal neuroimaging. His group has contributed to advances in fMRI acquisition, signal processing, denoising approaches, functional connectivity analysis, and cortical layer-specific imaging. In addition to his research leadership, Dr. Bandettini has held editorial and professional service roles within the neuroimaging community, including serving as Editor-in-Chief of NeuroImage and President of the Organization for Human Brain Mapping. He is an ISMRM Fellow.
