Dr. Xueqing Gong is now a professor of Chemical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). He received his bachelor’s degree from SJTU in 2000 and Doctor’s degree in Physical Chemistry from Queen’s University of Belfast in 2004. He then worked as a Post-doc at Princeton University. In 2007, he joined East China University of Science and Technology. In late 2023, he moved back to SJTU. He has been working in the area of theoretical chemistry by focusing on the computational modeling of heterogeneous catalysts and catalytic reactions. He has published ~320 peer-reviewed papers in SCI journals, including Nature, Science, Nature Materials, JACS and PRL. He received the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2018. In recent years, his research interests also include the development and application of Artificial Intelligent techniques for the study of chemical substances and reactions.
