Isao Shitanda, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology, Tokyo University of Science, Japan. His research focuses on electrochemical sensors, biosensors, printed devices, biofuel cells, and electrochemical impedance analysis. He has worked on wearable and flexible sensing platforms for the detection of biomarkers in sweat and other biological samples, with interests spanning device fabrication, interface design, and practical applications in healthcare and environmental monitoring. He is also engaged in collaborative research with academic and industrial partners in the fields of electrochemistry, materials science, and sensing technologies.
