Chris Baeken, MD, PhD, is Full Professor in Psychiatry Imaging at Ghent University, Associate Professor at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and Distinguished Research Associate at Eindhoven University of Technology. A psychiatrist and neuroscientist, he founded and leads the Ghent Experimental Psychiatry (GHEP) Lab and co-chairs the NEUR Research Group. His research examines the neurobiological mechanisms of mood disorders, stress reactivity, and emotion regulation, integrating multimodal neuroimaging with non-invasive brain stimulation. A central focus is the development of personalized, network-guided neuromodulation strategies for depression and other neuropsychiatric disorders. He currently serves as President of the European Society for Brain Stimulation.
