Universities and academic institutions face increased demands to demonstrate value and impact to society, and calls to provide more supportive environments that offer recognition, better incentives, and fairer career paths.

This panel will explore how to evolve current practices to encompass a wider range of inputs, outputs, outcomes, and research practices, while ensuring responsible use of metrics, and a balance of quantitative and qualitative approaches.

Day 3: 28 Sept, 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM Sydney Following the exclusive reveal of the prestigious THE World University Rankings 2024 — the first ranking developed with THE’s updated methodology — this masterclass will feature a detailed analysis and insight from THE and Elsevier’s data scientists into the key findings, trends and stories from the data, and they will take questions from our global audience.

Last year’s rankings included more than 1,790 universities across 104 countries and regions, making them the largest and most diverse university rankings to date.
