What to submit in your proposal
We've created easy-to-use proposal forms to help you share your vision with us. Our forms guide you to include key information about your book, including:
Working title, book overview, and keywords (what the book covers, why it matters, and terms to help us position its content)
Author/editor information (your qualifications and purpose for writing this book)
Target audience (who will use this content and why)
Content scope, key topics, and features (what you'll cover and how)
Competition (books already on the market and how yours is unique)
Additional information, such as a book outline, working table of contents, sample chapters and/or planned co-authors

How to submit your proposal

When your form is complete, email the document to: [email protected]opens in new tab/window and use the following naming convention as your email subject line: “Proposal in [subject area] / [author name: working title]” (example: Proposal in mechanical engineering / Smith: Advances in Applied Mechanics).

What to expect after submission
After you submit your proposal, you will get an automated reply from [email protected]opens in new tab/window with a ticket number confirming your email was received. From there, our team will:
Route your proposal to the appropriate books team based on topic area and scope. If a proposal could fall under more than one team's remit, we'll review it together and route it to the most appropriate team.
Evaluate your book idea alongside our current publishing priorities, subject area needs, target audiences, and potential inclusion into our digital solutions.
Respond promptly, with publishing decisions generally available in less than 3 months.
