Sara ben Hmido

Sara ben Hmido, MD, is a physician, researcher, and healthcare innovator working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, clinical care, and healthcare transformation. She currently serves as coordinator of the Amsterdam AI & Health Center (AmsCAIH), a joint initiative bringing together clinicians, researchers, and AI experts to accelerate the responsible development and implementation of AI solutions in healthcare.

Alongside this role, she is completing her PhD at the Department of Surgery at Amsterdam UMC, where her research focuses on translating AI innovations into meaningful applications for clinical practice. With a strong interest in surgery, oncology, and emerging technologies, Sara is particularly passionate about bridging the gap between technological innovation and the needs of healthcare professionals and patients.
