Radu Apsan

Radu Apsan is the Scientific Software Engineer at the Network institute of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam). In this capacity, he is responsible for Co-developing Nebula, one of the first fully-localized Large Language Model (LLM) deployments in the Netherlands, and likely across the EU. Nebula is a research infrastructure ecosystem developed to provide VU researchers with seamless access to compute and over 1500 open-source large language models (LLMs), providing scientific capabilities to replicate Gen AI experiments in a safe and trusted environment. Optional connections are available to compare these to all current (nonsafe) commercial environments. Radu holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Computer Science from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and is highly skilled in computer systems orchestration, and their software.
