Tony Sheil

Tony Sheil has served as Director, Office for Research, Griffith University since 2020, following a period spent as Chief of Staff to the Vice Chancellor.  Prior to that he had a long career in university research management specialising in research strategy and performance. Tony is currently the Chair of the Innovative Research Universities Research Director’s Group, a member of the QS World University Rankings Global Advisory Board, a Board member of the Sustainable Built Environment National Research Centre, and recently served on the Australian Research Council ERA Transition Working Group. He is a recognised expert in university rankings, research performance analysis, and bibliometric analysis and has provided advice to universities across Australia and abroad in the UK, Netherlands, Iceland, Russia, Malaysia, and P.R. China.
