Rong received her Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering from National University of Singapore. She joined NTU in 2004 and is currently Professor at School of Chemical & Biomedical Engineering.
Her lab has actively worked in the field of photo- and electrocatalysis for energy and environmental applications. She serves as the Associate Editor of EnergyChem, Elsevier. She is currently appointed as the Research Director of Engineering and Physical Sciences in Senior Vice President Research’s office of NTU. She is also the Director of Singapore Energy Centre (SgEC), an industrial consortium with its mission to develop innovative solutions to meet the growing energy demand through research and education. In her role as a lecturer, she is devoted to teaching foundation courses for engineering training, including Mass & Energy Balance and Heat Transfer.
