Prof. Ahmad Najib Burhani, M.A., M.Sc., Ph.D. is an Indonesian scholar and senior public sector leader currently serving as Director General of Science and Technology at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek), Republic of Indonesia. In this role, he oversees national science and technology policy, talent development, research dissemination, and innovation initiatives.

Before joining the ministry, he was a Research Professor at LIPI and later led the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Organization at Indonesia's National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). His academic work focuses on religion, society, pluralism, and contemporary Islamic studies.

Burhani holds degrees from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Leiden University, the University of Manchester, and a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He has held fellowships at leading international institutions, including ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute (Singapore), Leiden University, Kyoto University, and Drew University, and has been recognized among the World's Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University and Elsevier.
