Michael R. Strand is a Professor in the Department of Entomology at the University of Georgia, USA. He also holds appointments in the Center for Tropical and Emerging Global Diseases, Department of Genetics, and School of Ecology. Research interests include the study of pathogen and parasite-host interactions, immunity, development, and vector biology. He has authored more than 300 journal papers and book chapters. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and Entomological Society of America. He was elected to the US National Academy of Sciences in 2017.
