Marie-Laure Welter

Paris Brain Institute, France

As a neurophysiologist, I am in charge of the Neurophysiology Department in the CHU Rouen, France. I am specialized in the care of PD patients, in particular gait and balance disorders, and others movement disorders, such as essential tremor or dystonia. My research program is devoted to the understanding of the pathophysiology of these complex abnormal movement disorders, gait and balance disorders, to identify new therapeutic targets, especially in the field of functional neurosurgery with combined clinical and electrophysiological approach.

My competencies will be applied in the same way in the current project for the evaluation of the effects of directional STN DBS to improve gait and balance disorders in PD patients.
