Talk Title: How do we green our bodies?

My research area is focused on chlorophylls as head of the “Chemistry and Biochemistry of Pigments” group.

My work is based on the development of new systematic tools to achieve metabolomics studies in foods of vegetal origin and the characterization of chlorophyll metabolites by HPLC-MSn. At present, I´m involved in the metabolism of chlorophylls in mammals, providing insights into the first-pass metabolism of chlorophylls as dietary food compounds and in the acquisition of in vivo data on the availability of natural food chlorophylls, as well as specific active metabolism and tissue distribution of chlorophylls. in new tab/window.
