Luis Cisternas

Luis Cisternas is a Full Professor in the Department of Mineral Processing and Chemical Engineering at Universidad de Antofagasta, Chile, where he currently directs the doctoral program in Mineral Process Engineering. He earned his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA) and has held visiting professorships at DTU (Denmark), Aalto University (Finland), UQAT (Canada), Wuhan University of Technology (China), and Université de Lorraine (France). His research applies systems approaches to mineral processing, seawater utilization in mining, and froth flotation, guided by circular economy principles. He has authored over 170 WoS-indexed articles, nine books, and 35+ book chapters, and is the founder of the FoMPEM international conference series.
