Joachim Schouteten is a professor at Ghent University, specializing in sensory science and consumer behavior within the agri-food sector. His research focuses on the sensory perception of novel and sustainable food products, combining consumer evaluations with instrumental measurements to gain a comprehensive understanding of sensory experiences. As coordinator of the Food Market Research Hub, Joachim integrates advanced techniques such as eye-tracking, facial analysis, VR to explore how sensory properties influence food choices. He has contributed to several national and European research projects and regularly presents his findings at international conferences.
