Hisakage Funabashi
Hiroshima University
Hisakage Funabashi is a Professor (Special Recognition) at the Graduate School of Integrated Sciences for Life, Hiroshima University, and serves as an Associate Editor of Biosensors and Bioelectronics. His research focuses on the development and utilization of functional biomaterials, including nucleic acids, proteins, and living cells, for applications such as biosensing and biodevices. He develops biosensing molecules that integrate both target recognition and signal generation, providing a novel strategy for designing biosensing devices that convert analog biological information into digital information. More recently, his work has expanded to the electrochemical control of living cells, aiming to establish interfaces that bridge computer-based digital systems and analog biological functions.
