Francesca Turroni is an Associate Professor of Microbiology at the University of Parma, Italy. She holds a PhD in Food Science and Technology there and completed postdoctoral research at the National University of Ireland, Cork. She is the head of the Interdepartmental Research Center “Microbiome Research Hub” at the University of Parma. She is part of the editorial board member of many scientific journals. Her research focuses on omics approaches, genomics and functional genomics, of probiotic bacteria and host-microbe interactions in the human gut. She has led or co-led multiple publicly and privately funded projects, contributed to technology transfer for the food industry and authored over 215 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
