Dr. Karthik Rajendran is a distinguished academic and researcher, currently serving as the Associate Dean at SRM University-AP, where he oversees the Office of the Dean Quality Assurance and Rankings. He is responsible for developing strategies, rankings and accreditation of SRM University-AP. Dr. Rajendran's research is truly global, with significant contributions in the United States, Sweden, and Ireland. His work primarily focuses on the development of advanced biofuels, the integration of Energy and AI, and conducting thorough techno-economic analyses and lifecycle assessments. These efforts are directed towards the commercialization of bioenergy systems and the pursuit of net-zero emissions—a critical goal in the face of global climate challenges.
With an impressive portfolio of over 100 peer-reviewed publications, eights patents, and numerous industrial-funded projects, Dr. Rajendran's expertise in the field of energy is both recognized and celebrated. His research excellence has placed him among the top 2% of highly cited scientists in his field, highlighting the impact and relevance of his work. His scholarly achievements have been acknowledged through prestigious awards such as the Young Scientist Award in 2022 from The Biotechnology Research Society of India (BRSI), the Hiyoshi Global Young Leaf Award in 2023 from Japan, and the Prof. VS Rao Foundation – Prof HP Tiwari Best Faculty Award in 2023. He has received the Best Teacher of the Year from CSC India in 2024.
