Description
EMBASE Classic is the digitalization of the Excerpta Medical Journals that covers biomedical journals from 1947-1973. 90% of the records
have abstracts.
EMBASE Classic is available on vendor platforms such as Ovid, Dialog and Datastar and will be, available on EMBASE.com
in Q4 2008.
Most of the researchers look for new articles published in the last 5 years, sometimes going back to 1995, so why do
you need EMBASE Classic?
Knowledge and insights are changing rapidly but this does not mean that earlier research is no longer valid.
Scientific knowledge and insights come from existing facts, data and theories combined with recent accomplishments. In order to develop
new insights you need to access older research results.
- You cannot afford to miss side-effects and toxicities reported in the
past.
- Due to increased technology and knowledge, cancelled drug development projects in the past may have enormous potential
today.
- Scientists and researchers are using substantial amounts of older literature.
- Identifying the trail of scientific
thinking helps to connect theories to new data.
