Description
Parts A and B of Handbook of Chemometrics and Qualimetrics provide comprehensive coverage of the various fields of chemometrics,
starting with classical statistical methods for hypothesis testing to advanced methods such as neural networks, genetic algorithms and
latent variable based methods. This Handbook includes contributions from authors with both academic and industrial backgrounds
and has applications from all fields of chemistry and pharmacy.
The book consists of two parts which describe the whole field of chemometrics.
The topics include: univariate regressions; both linear and non-linear; vectors, matrices and matrix operations; randomization tests;
fuzzy methods; information theory; experimental design; principal component analysis and regression; partial least squares; factor analysis;
pattern recognition; signal processing.
Important applications such as method validation, multivariate calibration, quantitative
structure-activity relationships, analysis of sensory data and pharmacokinetic methods are treated in separate chapters. More recent
or sophisticated methods such as MARS and ACE, three-way principal component analysis, SIMPLISMA and Procrustes analysis are concisely
introduced. Empirical examples are added to enhance accessibility.
Audience
For pharmaceutical, chemical, petrochemical, environmental and agrofood industries; chemistry, environmental, engineering and pharmacy departments in universities and software development companies.
