Placing an order with Elsevier is easy. There is no need for registration. We accept credit card and debit card payments online. Should you wish to pay for your order by other payment methods please contact our customer service department.

Below are the steps you need to undertake to place an order on the website. If you encounter any problems when ordering, please contact us.

 

  1. Go to the elsevierdirect.com website
  2. Find the goods you want
  3. Add items to your cart
  4. Proceed to checkout
  5. Enter a billing and shipping address
  6. Provide payment details
  7. Registration (optional)

 

1.  Go to the External link  elsevierdirect.com website

You will be able to place your order through this website. You will be directed to this website should you click on the To order this title, and for more information, click here link from the top of each book page on this website.

 

2. Find the goods you want

First you will need to browse or search for the product that you would like to order. Keyword and full text search facilities are available on every page of our website. You will also find links to subjects, imprints and products in the top navigation bar. When you find the product you wish to order click the name or title of the item to see its product detail page. Here you will find further information on the product, including whether or not the product is available.

 

3. Add products to your cart

If you would like to order the product from our website click the Add to Cart button on the products detail page. Once the products have been entered into your cart, you may search/browse for any other items that you require. You can access you cart at any time by clicking on the My Cart link at the top of the website.

 

4. Proceed to Checkout

When you have all the products that you wish to order in your cart you may proceed to checkout. Should you have items in your cart that you no longer wish to order click on the rubbish bin icon to the right of each order line to remove it from your list.
When you are ready to place the order click on the check out button (you may need to scroll down the page in order to see this button). If you have any difficulty or receive any error messages while checking out please contact us.

 

5. Enter a billing and shipping address

You will need to enter your billing details once you have entered these and you are required to enter your shipping details. If these are the same as your billing address please check the ‘same as billing’ radio button, your address details will then be automatically updated. If your shipping address differs from that of your billing account please enter them in the boxes available. Once your billing and shipping addresses are complete click the continue button at the bottom of the page.

 

6. Provide payment information

Next, you will need to provide your payment details. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit cards and Switch debit cards on our website (should you wish to pay by cheque or postal order please contact our customer services department). All orders must be prepaid.

Once you have provided us with your payment details please double check your order and click on the place order button at the bottom of the page.

You will receive a confirmation email to confirm that your order has been received. The email will contain an order reference number please quote this in all correspondence regarding this order should you need to contact customer services.

 

7. Registration (optional)

If you wish you may register on our website. This will enable you to order quicker the next time you wish to place an order as it will automatically insert your usual shipping and billing address.

Click on the register link that can be found on the top right of the website. You will be taken to the registration page. All fields with an * indicates required fields. Please note that your user name should be your contact email address.

Changing your shipping address on subsequent orders

If you wish to change your shipping address on subsequent orders, please make sure that you check the ship to: same as billing? No radio button when checking out this will enable you to change your shipping address.

Can I change my contact details once I have registered?

Yes, to change your contact details (email address, password, billing or shipping address) you will need to log in to the site using your email and password. Once you have logged on click the Welcome link on the top right of the website. You will then be asked to re-enter your password (for security). You will then be able to change any details on the registration page
