Jay Katzen

Jay Katzen is the managing director of academic and government products for the science and technology division at Elsevier. In this role, Jay oversees the product management, product marketing and business development strategies for the core platforms that deliver Elsevier content: Scopus, ScienceDirect, Scirus and Research Workflow Tools.

Jay brings to Elsevier more than 17 years of experience in marketing, product management, and software and business development for information publishers. He has a deep understanding of librarian and researcher requirements, and is focused on ensuring that Elsevier continues to deliver the highest quality solutions to these customers.

Prior to joining Elsevier, Jay served as the senior vice president of marketing, business development and knowledge management in the Healthcare Point of Care unit within The Thomson Corporation. Prior to his position at Thomson, he held the roles of Vice President of Marketing and Business Development with Unbound Medicine, and Lexi-Comp, Inc.

Jay holds a B.A. in computer engineering from Case Western Reserve University and an M.B.A. from Cleveland State University. He and his family relocated to the Netherlands and he is based in Amsterdam.
