Elsevier's global Library Connect LIS Outreach Program offers complimentary resources to support library and information science faculty and students.
What's available through this program? Free Connect publications; a library marketing internship with Elsevier in San Diego, California; international librarian residencies; and Elsevier experts who can speak to "library school" classes.
What do Elsevier's library marketing interns do? They help create communications aimed at information specialists worldwide. For example, in summer 2009, library marketing intern Jessica Meindertsma helped improve Library Connect-branded social media sites including Facebook and Twitter. And in fall 2009, intern Amber Toland recorded podcasts about library lobbying and Elsevier's TrainingDesk, in addition to developing content for Web pages like this one.
