A. Sharon, Boston University, Brookline, MA, USADr Andre Sharon joined MIT in 1989 as Associate Director of the Laboratory for Manufacturing and Productivity. In 1991 he co-founded and
became Executive Officer of the MIT Manufacturing Institute which serves as a vehicle for developing new technologies for industry based
on emerging research findings. Dr Sharon has accumulated extensive experience working with industry to target, develop and deploy new
manufacturing technologies and machinery. His current research interests are flexible automation systems, electro-mechanical design,
robotics, and controls. In addition to his research agenda, Dr Sharon works closely with industry to identify important manufacturing
problems, develop new technologies and foster technology transfer. He is actively pursuing the improvement of infrastructure for technology
development and transfer in the US. |
