R. H. Haug, DDS
Dr. Haug received his DDS with highest honors from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1980. He received his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at the Mount Sinai Hospital of New York. After three years in private practice, Dr. Haug accepted a teaching appointment in the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine at the MetroHealth Medical Center. There he advanced from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor and also became the Director of the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Director of postgraduate training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Haug then moved on to the University of Kentucky where he was appointed Professor, Division Director and Assistant Dean for Hospital Affairs. He now serves as the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, and oversees the operations of eleven clinical sites including three mobile units for the University of Kentucky, College of Dentistry. Throughout his career, Dr. Haug has had an interest in trauma and has lectured extensively on such throughout the world. He has authored more than 95 peer reviewed publications, 24 textbook chapters, 30 abstracts, 350 literature abstracts and has edited 5 books. Dr. Haug was recently honored by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons by being named the First Philip L. Maloney Lecturer in Maxillofacial Trauma at their 84th Annual Scientific Session.
