Submission of papers
Papers must be sent in English. The latest electronic version of manuscripts
for publication should be sent to the Editor-in-Chief, Professor M.S. El Naschie, Chaos, Solitons & Fractals via e-mail: Chaossf@aol.com.
Alternatively manuscripts may be submitted to the nearest Regional Editor. Authors from Japan and China are strongly advised to submit
their manuscripts to the respective Regional Editor in order to avoid unnecessary
delay. Files are requested in Microsoft Word (or Adobe)
plus LaTex for publishing purposes. Always keep a backup copy. Please make sure the manuscript includes an up to date e-mail address
for correspondence.
Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously (except in the form
of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis), that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, that
its publication is approved by all authors and tacitly or explicitly by the responsible authorities where the work was
carried out, and
that, if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in English or in any other language, without the written consent
of the copyright holder.

The manuscript should comprise: abstract (200 words or less); main body of paper; acknowledgements; appendices; references. It is
recommended that, where possible, authors supply a FAX number and an e-mail address so that any editorial queries can be speedily dealt
with.

be typed in double spacing throughout on good quality white paper, on one side of the page, with adequate margins.
Mathematical
expressions
Mathematical symbols and formulae should be typed. Identify unusual mathematical symbols and abbreviations at their
first appearance. Distinguish between capital and lower case; between the letter O and zero (0); between the letter l and the number
1; between k and kappa. Use the following sequence of parentheses: )] }. Vectors and tensors should be
clearly identified throughout
the manuscripts. Standard symbols should be used whenever possible, preferably those recommended by the American Standards Association.
Equations should be numbered in a single sequence and equation numbers should appear in parentheses on the right-hand side of the page.
Units
Use Systeme International (SI) units. Other units may be included in
parentheses.
Figures (photographs, diagrams
and graphs)
All illustrations should be provided in camera-ready form, suitable for reproduction (which may include reduction)
without retouching. Illustrations should be sent in electronic form wherever possible, with each illustration included as an individual
TIFF or EPS file.
Figures should be numbered consecutively in the order which they are referred to. They should not be included in
the manuscript pages. The following standard symbols should be used as they are readily available to the typesetter: O • ×
+ [] squf; ˘ ˘. Figure captions should be typed on a single sheet and placed at the end of the manuscript. The amount
of lettering on a drawing should be reduced as far as possible by transferring it to the legend.
Colour illustrations
Figures may be published in colour, if this is judged essential by the Editor. The Publisher and the author will each bear part of the
extra costs involved. Further information is available from the Publisher.
Tables
Tables should be numbered consecutively
and given a suitable caption, and each table typed on a separate sheet.
References
References should be denoted in the
text by numbers in brackets and listed, with full paper titles, at the end of the paper in numerical order, in the following style:

PDF proofs
PDF proofs and query sheets will be sent to the author (first named author if no corresponding author is identified
of multi-authored papers) by E-mail. All proofs should be returned within 48 hours of receipt. The corresponding author should supply
a full postal address, E-mail address and, where possible, a fax number. Correction should be restricted to typesetting errors; any others
may be charged to the author. Any queries should be answered in full. Please note that authors are urged to check their proofs carefully
before return, since the inclusion of late corrections cannot be guaranteed.
Copyright
Upon acceptance of an article,
authors will be asked to sign a 'Journal Publishing Agreement' (for more information on this and copyright see http://www.elsevier.com/copyright). Acceptance of the agreement will ensure the widest possible dissemination of information. An e-mail (or letter) will be sent
to the corresponding author confirming receipt of the manuscript together with a 'Journal Publishing Agreement' form or a link to the
online version of this agreement.
Subscribers may reproduce tables of contents or prepare lists of articles including abstracts for
internal circulation within their institutions. Permission of the Publisher is required for resale or distribution outside the institution
and for all other derivative works, including compilations and translations (please consult http://www.elsevier.com/permissions.
