NOTES FOR CONTRIBUTORS
Submission of papers
Papers must be sent in English. The latest electronic version of manuscripts
for publication should be sent to the Editorial Office, Chaos, Solitons & Fractals, Elsevier, Room 18.018, Radarweg 29, 1043 NX Amsterdam,
The Netherlands. Files are requested in Microsoft Word (or Adobe) plus LaTex for publishing purposes. Always keep a backup copy. Please
make sure the manuscript includes an up to date e-mail address for correspondence.
Submission of an article implies that the work described
has not been published previously (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis), that it is
not under consideration for publication elsewhere, that its publication is approved by all authors and tacitly or explicitly by the responsible
authorities where the work was carried out, and that, if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in English or
in any other language, without the written consent of the copyright holder.

The manuscript should comprise: abstract
(200 words or less); main body of paper; acknowledgements; appendices; references. It is recommended that, where possible, authors supply
a FAX number and an e-mail address so that any editorial queries can be speedily dealt with.
Regular manuscripts should be
typed in double spacing throughout on good quality white paper, on one side of the page, with adequate margins.
Mathematical expressions
Mathematical symbols and formulae should be typed. Identify unusual mathematical symbols and abbreviations at their first appearance.
Distinguish between capital and lower case; between the letter O and zero (0); between the letter l and the number 1; between k and kappa.
Use the following sequence of parentheses: )] }.
Vectors and tensors should be
clearly identified throughout the manuscripts.
Standard symbols should be used whenever possible, preferably those recommended by the American Standards Association. Equations should
be numbered in a single sequence and equation numbers should appear in parentheses on the right-hand side of the page.
Units
Use Systeme International (SI) units. Other units may be included in
parentheses.
Figures (photographs, diagrams and graphs)
All illustrations should be provided in camera-ready form, suitable for reproduction (which may include reduction) without retouching.
Illustrations should be sent in electronic form wherever possible, with each illustration included as an individual TIFF or EPS file.
Figures should be numbered consecutively in the order which they are referred to. They should not be included in the manuscript pages.
