Current Research on Cities is designed to be the first meta-journal in urban studies, drawing on the potential of digital information
to provide powerful support to the researcher, practitioner and teacher in a rapidly expanding field of great global importance.
Current Research on Cities extends beyond disciplines, methodologies and approaches. Its goal is to offer up-to-the-minute
assessments of topics written by those working in their respective fields. The coverage is driven by bibliometric analysis of what is
being published and accessed—across the academy and in practice—regardless of discipline or geography.
The journal
has a roster of contributing editors who will be responsible for the evolving content of the journal. They will commission and offer
focused research reports on the topics that are of importance to the field. In addition, we will provide broader assessments of concepts
that are evolving in different disciplines, such as 'neighborhood' or 'climate change adaptation'.
Current Research on Cities
will appear initially as supplements to the respected journal
Cities (Impact Factor:
1.246), which will remain under the direction of Ali Modarres as Editor-in-Chief. Subsequently, the journal will be published four times
yearly and all articles will be immediately indexed and visible. All the content of the journal will be available to digital subscribers
via ScienceDirect. In addition, the journal will offer more immediate content to readers interested in conferences, public and private
reports and news that has urban content via the URBlog
http://www.CurrentResearchOnCities.com.
