Magnetic, Imaging, Diagnostic and Sensor Applications
Online Submission
Manuscript submission proceeds online
via the
Nano Today Web site at
http://ees.elsevier.com/nanotoday/. To ensure rapid publication upon acceptance,
Microsoft Word files are preferred. All authors are encouraged to submit a biographical sketch accompanied by a photo. Prior to submitting
a paper, please follow instructions given below.
Submission Language: English
Manuscripts should be proof-read
and have English language errors corrected before submission. Elsevier has negotiated with five different language editing companies
to provide their services to our authors at favorable rates. You can find a listing of these companies that provide pre-submission language
editing at
http://www.elsevier.com/wps/find/authorshome.authors/languagepolishing.
Types of Article and Limitations
on Page Length
Reviews Articles inform readers of the latest research and advances in nanoscience and nanotechnology,
with perspectives on future directions. The maximum recommended length of Reviews Articles is 12 journal pages, which correspond to 11,700
words including figure captions and references. A maximum of 100 references and 25 figures can be included.
Rapid Communications
feature exciting breakthroughs in the field. They are concise, original and high-impact scientific reports that should not exceed 4000
words including figure captions and references. A maximum of four figures is recommended.
News and Opinions offer the opportunity
to comment on topical issues or express views in a concise and accessible way, and are limited to 800 words and one figure.
Submission
Policy
Manuscripts are accepted for review with the understanding that the same work has not been and will not be, nor is
currently submitted elsewhere, and that its submission for publication has been approved by all of the authors and by the institution
where the work was performed; further, that any person cited as a source of personal communications has approved such citation. Articles
and any other materials published in
Nano Today represent the opinions of the author(s) and should not be construed to reflect
the opinions of the Editor(s) or the Publisher.
Conflict of Interest Disclosure
Nano Today requires
authors to disclose any possible conflicts of interest. If an author has a financial relationship with one or more companies whose products
are featured in a manuscript, this relationship should be briefly defined in the Comments Section of the online submission forms.
Manuscript
Review
Review Articles and Rapid Communications are subjected to peer review. Contributors are asked to provide a list
of at least 4 potential referees. Contributors may also stipulate any individuals they specifically prefer not to be contacted. However,
the editors cannot guarantee that preferences will be met. Following peer review, contributors will be advised by the editors of any
comments and a suggested course of action. Please not that the editors' decision is final, and commissioning does not automatically
guarantee publication.
Detailed instructions on manuscript preparation can be found below. The editor reserves the right to return
manuscripts that do not conform to the instructions for manuscript preparation and artwork instruction, as well as papers that do not
fit the scope of the journal, prior to refereeing.
Manuscript Preparation
Editors reserve the right to adjust
style to certain standards of uniformity. Please follow this order when typing manuscripts: Title, Authors, Affiliations, Abstract, Main
Text, Acknowledgements, References, Biographical Sketch, Figure Captions, Tables, and Supporting Information. Use double spacing and
ensure that each new paragraph is clearly indicated. Number all pages consecutively; use 12 pt font size and Times New Roman font.
General
Word files are preferred to facilitate rapid publication.
Title
Authors are urged to keep the title as concise
as possible. The title should be short, not exceeding 45 characters (including spaces) and should be followed by contributors' full
names and affiliations.
Corresponding Author
Please clearly indicate who is willing to handle correspondence
at all stages of refereeing and publication, as well as post-publication. Ensure that telephone and fax numbers (with country and area
codes) are provided, in addition to the e-mail address and the complete postal address.
Abstract
An abstract
of 75-100 words should be included only for Review Articles, separate from the main body of the text. This should introduce the topic
of the article and its content. It should contain no unexplained acronyms, abbreviations, or references.
Keywords
Authors must provide 4-6 keywords for Review Articles and Rapid Communications for indexing purposes. Keywords need not appear in
the text; the online system will prompt authors for keywords during submission.
Units
Follow internationally
accepted rules and conventions: use the international system of units (SI). If other quantities are mentioned, give their equivalent
in SI.
Acknowledgments
Brief acknowledgements may be given at the end of the text body.
References
All references to other papers, books, etc., should be given in consecutive order at the end of the article, and should be cited
in the text by Arabic numerals in square brackets before punctuations. Articles that have been published, in press or submitted, as well
as personal communications, can be included in the references. Papers accepted for publication are cited as ''in press''
with the DOI if published online.
• References should be given in the following form without text effects such as bolding or
italicizing.
• Journal article and chapter titles should be omitted.
• References with more than 6 authors must
list the first 6 authors followed by ''et al.''
• The reference list should use the appropriate journal
acronyms, using the following styles:
