or history of ideas. Central topics are systems theory, systems dynamics, theoretical ecology, evolution, cognition, theoretical neurobiology,
visual computation, simulation strategies, and bioethics. Manuscripts present original work with a strong conceptual background. In addition,
each issue provides a literature review that comments on recent developments of a selected topic.
