The International Journal of Thermal Sciences is a journal devoted to the publication of fundamental
studies on the physics of transfer processes in general, with emphasis on thermal aspects and also applied research on
various processes, energy systems and the environment. It is a bi-lingual journal, in English and French, with a review committee.
The fundamental subjects considered within the scope of the journal are:
•heat and relevant mass transfer in all types of
materials (heterogeneous, porous...) and scales
•forced, natural or mixed convection in reactive (combustion...) or non-reactive
media
•single or multi–phase fluid flow with or without phase change
•radiation, including transmission in semi–transparent
media
•combined modes of transfer, transfer processes in plasmas , non–linear dynamics, the study of irreversible phenomena
The applied research topics include:
•heat exchangers, their optimization and fouling
•heat pipes, cooling
processes
•combustion engines and energy systems in general, their optimization and control
•transfer operations occurring
in many processes in chemical, food, agricultural, metallurgical, automobile, space and aeronautical industries
•heat transmission
and comfort in buildings, thermo–biology
•impact of energy–related processes on environment: pollution caused by
the emissions from heat engines, air quality, etc.
The study of thermophysical properties of materials and fluids, thermal measurement
techniques and data processing, including procedures such as inverse methods, are within the field of interest of the International
Journal of Thermal Sciences. It also covers the development of experimental methods and modelling, and numerical methods applied
to thermal transfer.
In addition to standard scientific papers presenting the results of specific experimental or practical studies,
the International Journal of Thermal Sciences publishes 'review papers' on chosen topics with intensive referencing to
well–known authors in the field.
