submission of manuscripts.
Submission to Progress in Pediatric Cardiology proceeds totally online via
http://www.ees.elsevier.com/ppc.
The Elsevier Editorial System (EES) guides the author stepwise through the creation and uploading of the various files. During the
submission process, authors provide an electronic version of their manuscript to EES.
Authors may send queries concerning the submission
process, or journal procedures to
authorsupport@elsevier.com. Once the uploading is done, the system automatically generates
an electronic (PDF) proof, which is then used for reviewing. The review process is fully anonymous. All correspondence, including the
Editor's decision and request for revisions, will be processed through the system and will reach the corresponding author by e-mail.

Figure
Legends
Figure legends are typed double-spaced on sheets separate from the text, and figure numbers correspond with the order
in which figures are presented in text.
All abbreviations appearing on the figure described are identified after first mention or
in alphabetical order at the end of each legend.
Written permission from the publisher and author to reproduce any previously published
figured is included.
Figures
Three sets of laser prints of clean photocopies are provided in separate envelopes. Two sets
of glossy prints are provided for all half-tone or colour illustration.
Note: The artwork of published articles will not be
returned.
Figures, particularly graphs, are designed to take up as little space as possible. The lettering on the figures is of
sufficient size to withstand reduction. Nearly all graphs and most other figures will be reduced to one column width or less; optimal
type size, after reduction, is 8 points (range 6 to 10). Type and symbols should be similar in size. The maximal width for one column
figures is 8.5 cm or 3 1/4; for two column figures, 17.5 cm or 6 7/8.
Black ink is used for all line drawings. Decimals, lines, etc.
must be dark enough for reproduction.
Crop marks are indicated on photomicrographs to show only the essential field. Special features
are designated by arrows. Symbols, arrows or letters used in photomicrographs must contrast with the background.
The first author's
last name, figure number and
top location are indicated on the back of each illustration in light black pencil, preferably on
a gummed label.
Figure title and caption material appear in the legend not on the figure.
Figures are limited to the number necessary
for clarity. Estimates for colour work will be provided on the acceptance or provisional acceptance of the manuscript for publication.
All costs of printing color will be charged to the author(s).
Colour illustrations online
If, together with your accepted
article, you submit usable colour figures (original photographs, high-quality computer prints or transparencies, close to the size expected
in publication, or as 35 mm slides; polaroid colour prints are not suitable) then Elsevier will ensure, at no additional charge, that
these figures will appear in colour in the electronic version of the journal. For further information on the preparation of electronic
artwork, please see http://www.elsevier.com/authors.
Tables
Tables are typed double-spaced on separate sheets with the
table number and title centered above the table and explanatory notes below the table. The table numbers are Arabic and correspond
with the order in which the tables are presented in the text.
A foot note to each table identifying in
alphabetical order
all abbreviations used is provided.
Footnote references is tables should have superscript letters. In tables containing statistical
data, asterisks may be used to denote confidence intervals.
Tables are self-explanatory and the data are not duplicated in the text
