This journal aims to provide its readers with a swift, yet complete, current awareness service. This is achieved
both by the scope and structure of the journal, key features of which are:-
• Careful selection of relevant abstracts (and other
bibliographic data) from the latest issues of 4,000 leading international biomedical journals.
• The arrangement, within each
issue, of abstracts into separate chapters devoted to a specific topic. The journal covers all aspects of digestive system disease and
includes disorders of the mouth and pharynx, the hepatobiliary system, the exocrine pancreas, the peritoneum, mesentery and omentum.
Gastrointestinal physiology in humans and in animals (when clinically relevant) is also covered. The endocrine pancreas is excluded from
the coverage, as it is covered in Section 3: Endocrinology.
• Detailed author and keyword indexes to allow the reader to locate
items of special interest.
