This journal aims to provide its readers with a swift, yet complete, current awareness service. This is achieved
both by the scope and structure of the journal, key features of which are:
• Careful selection of relevant abstracts (and other
bibliographic data) from the latest issues of 4,000 leading international biomedical journals.
• The arrangement, within each
issue, of abstracts into separate chapters devoted to a specific topic. The journal covers all aspects of lung and respiratory tract
diseases, thoracic surgery and tuberculosis and includes, respiratory infections, mediastinal and pleural diseases, chronic chest diseases,
allergy and bronchial asthma and neoplastic disease. Cardiovascular surgery is not covered as it is covered in Section 18: Cardiovascular
Diseases and Cardiovascular Surgery. Additional relevant information may be found in Section 35: Occupational Health and Industrial Medicine.
