Authors should refer to the Aims and Scope of the Journal (inside front cover) before deciding on whether to submit manuscripts. All
papers should contain a meaningful balance between the description of the technique of analysis and its policy implications.
Manuscripts
in hard copy should be submitted (original plus one copy) BY REGULAR MAIL to
Ms. Sabah Cavallo,
Editorial
Assistant,
Journal of Policy Modeling,
7 Dreve de Lansrode,
1640 Rhode-St-Genese,
Belgium.
Paper must contain
original, unpublished work and not submitted for publication elsewhere. The editors do not accept responsibility for damage or loss of
papers submitted.
Inquiries regarding manuscript status should be faxed to Ms. Sabah Cavallo, at +32-2-358-5291 or e-mail Editor@econmodels.com.
Manuscripts may also be tracked on Elsevier's on-line database: www.elsevier.com/oasis.
All articles are (i) first screened by the Editorial Office to determine consistency with JPM's editorial line; then (ii) they are submitted
to four referees for evaluation; finally (iii) the Editor-in-Chief decides on the appropriate conclusion of the process, as advised by
the referees.
Following the written (hard-copy) submission, authors are provided by the Editorial Office with a pass-word-protected
address for electronic (soft-copy) submission. The pass-word (that is case-sensitive) should be used to access the Journal confidential
data-base that provides confidential information about the processing status of each paper. If a paper is not accepted but is considered
of quality adequate by at least some of the referees, with the consent of the author it will be published on-line by the Society of Policy
Modeling.
Papers: Manuscripts
should be typed one-sided, double spaced sheet. Footnotes should be indicated by superior numbers, numbered consecutively and kept to
a minimum. Reference citations are by last name of author and year. The title page should include the full names and affiliations of
the authors, with the name and address and e-mail address of the author responsible for proofs and correspondence. Authors must file
the Author Template with complete information about the logistic of the paper (names, addresses, dates, length, processing type
etc). The Template can be downloaded from the Journal's website. Please attach the Template to each paper submission, whether
in hard- or soft- version. An Abstract of not more than 100 words should also be included. Titles should be as brief as possible,
with a short running title. Electronic Submissions: Authors are requested to make certain that the hard and soft copy match
(otherwise the paper will be rejected). For processing purposes please use, if possible, Word (uncompressed, or in PDF if necessary).
The electronic file should be a single entity, thus including all relevant material (text, references, tables, figure captions, etc.).
The file should follow the general instructions on style/arrangement
and, in particular, the reference style of this journal as given
below.
Mathematical notation. Use typewritten letters, numbers, and symbols; identify boldface, script letters, etc. the
first time they occur. Distinguish between arabic "1" and the Letter "l" and between zero and the letter "O", capital or lower case,
wherever confusion might result. Important
formulae (displaced) should be numbered consecutively throughout the manuscript as (1), (2),
etc. on
the right-hand side of the page. Where the derivation of formulae has been abbreviated, it is of great help
to referees if the
full derivation can be presented on a separate sheet (not to be published).
