Guide for Authors

Submission of papers

Only papers not previously published will be accepted and authors must agree not to publish elsewhere a paper submitted to and accepted by the journal. Authors must not submit their paper to more than one editor. Papers have a maximum length of 30 pages. Mini reviews' are also allowed and have a maximum length of 10 pages.

Authors are requested to submit their manuscripts via the PHYSA online submission and peer-review system at External link http://ees.elsevier.com/physa/. Please follow the instructions given on this site. If you have any questions or experience problems, please contact authorsupport@elsevier.com
Note: Separate stand-alone files should be submitted for each part of the paper, i.e. a separate file for the text, tables, figures etc.

The following file formats are preferred for submission: For figures and illustrations: EPS, TIF or JPG (for more details see External link http://www.elsevier.com/artworkinstructions
For text matter: DOC, RTF, TeX/LaTeX or TXT.

It is essential that authors provide fax and telephone numbers and an e-mail address when submitting a manuscript.

Upon receipt of a submission the author will receive an acknowledgement of receipt. In case the submission cannot be handled by the (Advisory) Editor to whom the manuscript has been submitted, it will be forwarded to one of the Editors. In this case the author will be informed, on the "acknowledgement of receipt" form, who will handle the paper. After refereeing, the manuscript will be finally judged by one of the Editors who, unlike to the Advisory Editors, has the right to accept or reject a paper.

Submission of a paper will be taken to imply that it represents original work not previously published, that it is not being considered elsewhere for publication, and that if accepted for publication it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in any language without the consent of the Publisher.
