Manuscript Preparation General:
The corresponding author should be identified (include a Fax number and E-mail address). Full postal addresses must be given for all
co-authors. Authors should consult a recent issue of the journal for style if possible. The Editors reserve the right to adjust style
to certain standards of uniformity. Authors should retain a copy of their manuscript since we cannot accept responsibility for damage
or loss of papers. Original manuscripts are discarded one month after publication unless the Publisher is asked to return original material
after use.
Each page should be numbered, and page 1 should contain the article title, author and co-author names, complete affiliation(s)
(name of institution, city, state, and zip code), contact information (e-mail address and fax and telephone numbers), and a short abstract. Abstracts: All articles and Notes should be prefaced by a brief Abstract. Authors should not include references in Abstracts. Text: Follow this order when typing manuscripts: Title, Authors, Affiliations, Abstract, Keywords, Main text, Acknowledgements,
Appendix, References, Figure Captions and then Tables. Do not import the Figures or Tables into your text. The corresponding author should
be identified with an asterisk and footnote. All other footnotes (except for table footnotes) should be identified with superscript Arabic
numbers. The authors are requested to mark those passages which may be printed in small type. References: All publications
cited in the text should be presented in a list of references following the text of the manuscript. In the text refer to references by
a number in square brackets on the line (e.g. Since Hovenier[1] or just the number), and the full reference should be given in a numerical
list at the end of the paper.
References should be given in the following form:
[1] Whaling W, Anderson WHC, Carle MT, Brault
JW, Zarem HA. Argon ion linelist and level energies in the hollow-cathode discharge. JQSRT 1995;53:1-22.
[2] Pomraning GC. Linear
kinetic theory and particle transport in stochastic mixtures. Singapore: World Scientific, 1971. p. 103-112.

B, Kuhn G. Solution of solid liquid phase change problems by the boundary element method. In: Brebia CA, Wrobel LC, editors. Computational
methods for free and moving boundary problems, 2nd ed., vol. 1. Oxford: Elsevier, 1993. p. 373-398.
[4] Overhauser AW. Analytical
definition of curve and surfaces by parabolic blending. Technical report, SL68-40. Ford Motor Company, Detroit, MI, 1968. Figures
should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals in order of mention in the text; each figure should have a descriptive legend.
Legends should be presented separately, double-spaced, like the text. For more detailed instructions on please visit our artwork instruction
pages at http://www.elsevier.com/artworkinstructions. Colour: Authors will be charged for colour at current
printing costs. Tables: Tables should be numbered consecutively and given a suitable caption and each table typed on a separate
sheet. Footnotes to tables should be typed below the table and should be referred to by superscript lowercase letters. No vertical rules
should be used. Tables should not duplicate results presented elsewhere in the manuscript, (e.g. in graphs).
Supplementary Material
Elsevier and the Editors in Chief of Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy &Radiative Transfer invite authors of articles
submitted for publication to provide supplementary material in electronic form. Supplementary material that does not appear in the print
version of an article can be found online on ScienceDirect (http://www.sciencedirect.com).
Supplementary material
(even though not printed) is an integral part of a journal article and therefore will be sent to the reviewers along with the manuscript.
The acceptance of supplementary material is at the Editor's discretion. Manuscripts must not refer to supplementary material throughout
the text. Because this material will be mounted exactly as submitted by the author, we recommend that the material will be presented
in an electronic format that is readily accessible to the community. To ensure that your submitted material is directly usable, please
provide the data in one of our recommended file formats. Authors should submit the material in electronic format together with the article
and supply a concise and descriptive caption for each file. Please note, however, that supplementary material will not appear in the
printed journal. For general guidelines please see http://www.elsevier.com/artworkinstructions.
Proofs
Proofs will be sent to the author (first named author if no corresponding
author is identified of multi-authored papers) and should be returned if possible within 48 hours of receipt. Corrections should be restricted
to typesetting errors; any others may be charged to the author. Any queries should be answered in full. Please note that authors are
urged to check their proofs carefully before return, since the inclusion of late corrections cannot be guaranteed. Proofs are to be returned
to the Log-in Department, Elsevier, Stover Court, Bampfylde Street, Exeter, Devon EX1 2AH, UK.
Offprints
The corresponding
author will be provided with a PDF file of the article via e-mail. The PDF file is a watermarked version of the published article and
includes a cover sheet with the journal cover image and a disclaimer outlining the terms and conditions of use.
Copyright
All authors must sign the Transfer of Copyright agreement before the article can be published. This transfer agreement enables Elsevier
