Types of contributions: Annals of Nuclear Energy provides an international medium for the communication of original research, ideas and developments
in the field of nuclear energy. In particular, its scope includes reactor physics of all types, fuel management, radioactive waste disposal,
environmental effects, safety, siting and economics of reactors. There should be strong links to the physics of the problem in the areas
of thermal hydraulics, and in nuclear fusion the Editors would consider blanket studies. Specific areas the Editors would not consider
are the magnetic or laser aspects of fusion reactors, and chemical reprocessing of nuclear fuel. Occasionally the Editors will accept
review articles of a subject of especial current interest. In addition to Technical Papers, the Editors will also consider short
papers describing intermediate results of continuing investigations, which are of interest but possibly incomplete or tentative. Such
papers will be called Technical Notes. Authors should state whether they wish their manuscript to be considered under this heading.

Original material: Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been
published previously (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis), that it is not under consideration

in the same form, in English or in any other language, without the written consent of the Publisher.
Editor's requirements:
Authors are requested to state on the first page of the manuscript (a) the number of manuscript folios, (b) the number of figures and
(c) the number of tables.

Structure: Follow this order when typing
manuscripts: Title, Authors, Affiliations, Abstract, Keywords, Main text, Acknowledgements, Appendix, References, Vitae, Figure Captions
and then Tables. For submission in hardcopy, do not import figures into the text - see Illustrations. The corresponding author should
be identified with an asterisk and footnote. All other footnotes, if necessary (except for table footnotes), should be identified with
superscript numbers. The technical description of the methods used should only be given in detail when such methods are new. Collate
acknowledgements in a separate section at the end of the article and do not include them on the title page, as a footnote to the title

Text Layout: Use double spacing and wide (3 cm) margins on white paper. (Avoid full justification, i.e., do not use a constant
right-hand margin.) Ensure that each new paragraph is clearly indicated. Present tables and figure legends on separate pages at the end
of the manuscript. If possible, consult a recent issue of the journal to become familiar with layout and conventions. Number all pages
consecutively, use 12 or 10 pt font size and standard fonts. If submitting in hardcopy, print the entire manuscript on one side of the

Keywords: Immediately after the abstract,
provide a maximum of six keywords (avoid, for example, 'and', 'of'). Be sparing with abbreviations: only abbreviations firmly established

Units: Follow internationally accepted rules and conventions: use the international system of units (SI). If other quantities

Maths: Number consecutively any equations that have to be displayed separately from the text (if referred to explicitly
in the text).
References: All publications cited in the text should be
presented in a list of references following the text of the manuscript.
Text: All citations in the text should refer to: 1.
Single author: the author's name (without initials, unless there is ambiguity) and the year of publication; 2. Two authors: both
authors' names and the year of publication; 3. Three or more authors: first author's name followed by 'et al.' and the year of publication.
Citations may be made directly (or parenthetically). Groups of references should be listed first alphabetically, then chronologically.
Examples: "as demonstrated (Allan, 1996a, 1996b, 1999; Allan and Jones, 1995). Kramer et al. (2000) have recently shown ...."
List:
References should be arranged first alphabetically and then further sorted chronologically if necessary. More than one reference from
the same author(s) in the same year must be identified by the letters "a", "b", "c", etc., placed after the year of publication. Examples:

Tables: Tables should be numbered consecutively and given suitable captions and each table should begin on a new page.
No vertical rules should be used. Tables should not duplicate results presented elsewhere in the manuscript (for example, in graphs).
