Authors are requested to submit their papers electronically by using online manuscript submission
available at http://ees.elsevier.com/jmaa. This site will guide authors
stepwise through the submission process. Authors can upload their articles as LaTeX, Microsoft (MS) Word, or WordPerfect files. It is
also possible to submit an article in PostScript or Adobe Acrobat PDF format, but if the article is accepted, the original source files
will be needed. If you submit a word processing file, the system generates an Adobe Acrobat PDF version of the article, which is used
for the reviewing process. Authors, reviewers, and editors send and receive all correspondence by e-mail and no paper correspondence
is necessary.
Only papers written in a lucid, expository style will be eligible for publication. Manuscripts written in the English
language only will be accepted for publication. Manuscripts longer than 30 double-spaced typewritten pages will generally not be considered.Due
to publishing constraints, only two submissions per author, per year will be considered, at the discretion of the Editors in Chief.
Authors may suggest an associate editor appropriate for the paper; however, assignment to that associate editor is not assured. Cognate
papers by the same author will not be published in the same issue; such series of papers will be considered only with the understanding
that, if accepted, they will not appear in the same issue.
Manuscripts are accepted for review with the understanding that no substantial
or significant part of the submitted work has appeared or is under consideration elsewhere, even if this other work was written by an
author of the submitted manuscript and even if this other work is in a language other than English. Moreover, a manuscript is accepted
for review with the further understanding that its submission for publication has been approved by all of the authors and by the institution
where the work was carried out; further, that any person cited as a source of personal communications has approved such citation.
Copyright
Upon acceptance of an article, authors will be asked to transfer copyright (for more information on copyright, see
http://www.elsevier.com/locate/guidepublication). This transfer will ensure the widest possible dissemination of information.
A letter will be sent to the corresponding author confirming receipt of the manuscript. A form facilitating transfer of copyright will
be provided after acceptance.
If material from other copyrighted works is included, the author(s) must obtain written permission

Preparation of Manuscripts
Manuscripts prepared using TeX or LaTeX are welcome; however, LaTeX(2e) is strongly preferred.
A LaTeX template for this journal is available at http://www.elsevier.com/locate/latex.
The manuscript will be edited according to the style of the journal, and authors must read the proofs carefully.
Number each page.
The title page (p. 1) should contain the article title, authors' names and complete affiliations, footnotes to the title (indicated
by superscript 1,2,3), and the address for manuscript correspondence (including e-mail address and telephone and fax numbers).
Tables Tables should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals in order of appearance in the text. Type each table double-spaced on
a separate page with a short descriptive title typed directly above and with essential footnotes below.
Equations Place
equation numbers in parentheses at the right margin. Reference to equations should use the form "Eq. (3)" or simply (3).
References References to the literature should be cited the text by Arabic numbers between square brackets, as [1], [1, 2], [1, Theorem 1.5],
etc., and listed in numerical order at the end.

For unpublished lectures or symposia, include title of the paper, name of the sponsoring
society in full, and date. For journal names, follow the latest "Abbreviations of Names of Serials" reviewed in Mathematical Reviews
(Mathematical Reviews Annual Index, American Mathematical Society). Type references double- spaced throughout.
Footnotes
Footnotes in text should be avoided if at all possible. If they must be used, identify by superscript numbers and type together on a
separate page, double- or triple-spaced.
Figures Number figures consecutively with Arabic numerals. Supply a descriptive
legend for each figure. Type legends double- or triple spaced consecutively on a separate sheet. If, together with your accepted article,
you submit usable color figures, then Elsevier will ensure, at no additional charge, that these figures will appear in color on the Web
(e.g., ScienceDirect and other sites) regardless of whether these illustrations are reproduced in color in the printed version. For color
reproduction in print, you will receive information regarding the costs from Elsevier after receipt of your accepted article. For further

Please
note: Because of technical complications that can arise in converting color figures to "gray scale" (for the printed version should you
not opt for color in print), please submit in addition usable black-and-white files corresponding to all the color illustrations.
Proofs and Reprints
PDF proofs will be sent by e-mail to the author with a reprint order form. Authors will be charged for
alterations in excess of 10% of the cost of composition.
